NORCROSS, Ga.--(Business Wire)--
Bioenergy issues and opportunities have surged to the forefront in
our business, environmental, and political arenas. The 2008 TAPPI
International Bioenergy & Bioproducts Conference (IBBC) will showcase
the latest biorefinery technologies and emerging markets; address
legal, legislative, and investment challenges; and explore what's
really happening at biorefineries underway and in operation. The
conference will take place August 27-29, 2008 in Portland, Oregon, at
the Doubletree Hotel & Executive Conference Center.

To help attendees explore bioenergy issues from every angle, TAPPI
has assembled three highly-qualified experts to share their
perspectives and experience in special keynote presentations each day
of the Conference:

-- W. Densmore Hunter, chief technology officer of Catchlight
Energy LLC, a Chevron / Weyerhaeuser joint venture. He will
examine "What's Behind the Growing Interest in Forest-Based
Biofuels, How the Segment Will Likely Develop, and What It
        Means for the Forest Industry."

-- Dr. Joe Powell, research adviser and chief scientist, chemical
engineering for Shell Global Solutions. He will address
"Bioenergy Perspectives from the Petroleum Industry."

-- Dr. Masood Akhtar, president of Clean Tech Partners (CTP), who
will answer the question "Will the Integrated Forest
        Biorefinery Become Mainstream?"

The IBBC will provide a clear understanding of the technologies,
economics, and management mindset needed in the next five years to
produce transportation fuel from cellulosic sources. In 14
information-packed sessions, attendees will learn from subject experts
how others have leveraged tax knowledge and financial awareness to
create new business opportunities. By learning about currently
successful operations and the latest available technology, attendees
will come away with the insights needed to apply this expert knowledge
to their own operations.

Complete program and venue information, online registration, and
sponsorship opportunities are available at www.tappi.org/08IBBC. Group
discounts are available for companies registering three or more
attendees. The IBBC immediately follows TAPPI's Engineering, Pulping,
and Environmental Conference at the same venue. Details are available
