GLOBAL SPECIAL OPPORTUNITIES TRUST PLC

The Company announces that it has today purchased 28,472 Zero Dividend
Preference Shares of 0.1p each for cancellation at a price of �1.82608 per
share.

The Company now has the following number of shares in issue:

Income shares: 25,210,008

Capital shares: 50,000,000

Zero Dividend Preference shares: 272,341
