SWS First Response Announces the Opening of Its Newest Response Center in
Montgomery, Alabama

PANAMA CITY, Fla., July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Southern Waste Services, Inc.
(SWS) has announced the opening of a new Response Center in Montgomery, AL.
In support of local terminals and other businesses requiring an emergency
response contractor, a response team has been assembled with full time
responders on staff. Dedicated equipment such as boom, sorbents, pumps, drums,
PPE, response vehicles, boats, and other response resources are now staged for
rapid deployment.
The primary purpose is to provide first responder services in the area to
assess, mitigate and contain spills and releases. Spills or releases of
significant magnitude will be supported by the personnel and resources of the
SWS Birmingham Service Center to the north and the SWS Pensacola Service
Center to the south. "With the concentration of oil and chemical related
facilities in Montgomery, we felt like we could be an asset to the response
community," said President Jim Weber.
In Montgomery and the surrounding areas, the new Response Center will also
develop and maintain liaison with existing SWS clients, local emergency
management agencies and the fire department with new efforts to reorganize the
Montgomery Mutual Aid group, which previously existed between the bulk
petroleum terminals in the area.
