Program Designed to Reduce Recidivism in Florida

A graduation ceremony for male offenders participating in a reentry
treatment program will be held at the Everglades Correctional Institution.

WHO:
Male offenders participating in a 'behind the walls' reentry treatment
program.
Community Education Centers, Inc. is a vendor under contract with the
Florida Department of Corrections to provide reentry treatment services
throughout the State. CEC provides a 4-6 month reentry treatment program at
the Everglades Correctional Institution for 90 male offenders. The reentry
treatment program includes a 12 step model associated with AA and NA, and a
comprehensive life skills education course focused on the needs of male
offenders including addiction, criminal thinking errors, physical, and job
readiness training.
