Nikkei climbs more than 2 pct; trading houses gain

TOKYO (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei stock average rose more than 2 percent on Tuesday, with trading houses such as Itochu Corp (8001.T) surging after oil rose and banks gaining after a slew of U.S. peers beat forecasts.

At 0510 GMT (1:10 a.m. EDT) the benchmark Nikkei .N225 had gained 258.47 points to 13,062.12. The broader Topix .TOPX was up 1.7 percent at 1,273.86.
