Law firm files misrepresentation suit against CIBC
TORONTO, July 23 |
TORONTO, July 23 (Reuters) - Certain investors who bought shares of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CM.TO) between May 31, 2007 and February 28, 2008 have started a class-action suit in an Ontario court against the bank and some of its officers and directors, a Toronto law firm said on Wednesday.
The claim alleges that the bank and individuals misrepresented CIBC's total exposure to investments in the failing U.S. subprime mortgage market, law firm Rochon Genova LLP said in a press release. (Reporting by Lynne Olver; Editing by Peter Galloway)
