IT Outsourcing and Consulting Veteran to Lead North American Expansion

BRASILIA, Brazil, July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Politec, Brazil's leading
IT service provider with revenues of US$320 million (R$520 million), announced
the appointment of Peter Albers to the role of president and chief executive
officer for Politec USA. Albers will direct the North American operations of
Politec's Global Reach Strategy by expanding current client relationships and
securing new partnerships, to broaden Politec's presence in the region.
With more than 16 years of international expertise in enterprise business
applications and IT outsourcing, Albers brings finely-honed IT managerial
skills to Politec. His specialization in the leadership of SAP-oriented
projects and IT outsourcing will prove critical to the North American market
expansion efforts.
"We are thrilled about the appointment of Peter Albers to the position of
president and CEO of Politec USA," said Alexander Schmitz-Kohlitz, Politec's
executive vice president. "Peter's track record of successfully managing SAP
and IT outsourcing operations will help drive the growth of Politec's
footprint in the North American market. There is a large, double digit
opportunity there for IT outsourcers, particularly those that can deliver
service speed and availability. We believe Peter is the go-to-person for
leading Politec to the top of this market."
"My predecessors have set the bar high with their market development
efforts, leveraging a recent investment from the Mitsubishi Corporation to
cultivate relationships with the Japanese business community," said Albers.
"It will be exciting to apply this momentum to the near shore service needs of
the U.S. market. Politec differentiates itself from traditional IT outsourcing
companies through its proximity to customers in North America. This allows us
to provide a more immediate form of collaboration which impacts the quality of
service and implementation time."
Albers has a long and distinguished record of service with both start-ups
and established firms in the Brazilian, North American and Asian markets. He
previously led the $100 million SAP service line for Cap Gemini's East
Business Unit, after having served with Kanbay, a firm acquired by Cap Gemini
in 2007. During his tenure at Kanbay, Albers directed global SAP operations,
managed clients and oversaw a development center in India.
Prior to Kanbay, Albers was the North American president for HR consulting
firm Emeritis, an implementer and supporter of human resource information
systems. In addition, Albers initiated the operations of the German managerial
consulting firm Plaut in Brazil, which he grew from 2 to 200 employees in less
than four years.
Leading up to 2010, Politec plans to open development centers in New York,
Miami and Atlanta, hiring up to 800 new employees. The Politec portfolio in
North America includes IT services such as staff augmentation, application
maintenance, SAP related consulting and products including SAP, Microsoft and
MC1. It also features security related products from CA and LG for
applications such as iris recognition. Politec combines deep technical and
industry expertise in more than five sectors, including financial services,
utilities, telecommunications, oil & gas, manufacturing and the public sector.
