Introduction of New Class for Entrepreneurs Means "Back to School"
is No Longer Just for Kids
MCLEAN, Va.--(Business Wire)--
Business Shapers (www.bizshapers.com), the extensive planning and
development course for entrepreneurs, announces the launch of their
first session of classes, set to start in early September.
The class is the idea of Tom Heffernan, a serial entrepreneur who
saw the need for a class like this while building and growing
businesses of his own. "I wish there had been a class like this
available when I was just starting out in business," says Heffernan.
"A class like this could have prepared me for many of the problems
that I have run into during my business career, and I want to be able
to help others so they don't find themselves making similar mistakes."
In a study done by Inc. magazine and the National Business
Incubator Association (NBIA), it was revealed that 80 percent of new
businesses fail within the first five years. This is a stat that
Business Shapers aims to lower through these classes. Heffernan will
be teaching the class himself, but will also be bringing in outside
business leaders to teach classes on their specific areas of
expertise. The classes will focus on many different areas of a
business, including but not limited to:
-- The creation of a business plan
-- Finance and accounting for your business
-- Marketing and Advertising the business
While the class is designed for new entrepreneurs, it will be
equally valuable for any entrepreneur who is looking for help with
their business. The classes will be small in size, which will allow
each entrepreneur to get more individualized attention. During the
classes, the students will work together to help develop their
business plans, as well as to share their prior experiences and
knowledge. The class will also act as a makeshift focus group for
entrepreneurs as they will be able to talk about their ideas with the
rest of the class and see whether their business idea is marketable or
not.
