New Discovery of High Grade Gold 2305 g/t (67.22 oz/t) on Northern Gold Mining's Kirana Property (Revised)

Northern Gold Mining Inc. (TSX VENTURE: NGM) is pleased to provide
revised assay results that include all results on a promising, previously
unknown zone of mineralization containing areas assaying high grades of
gold (up to 2305.12 g/t, or 67.22 oz/ton) and local coarse, visible gold
at its Kirana Project. The Kirana Project is the company's most recently
acquired ground and the area containing the new gold bearing zone lies in
Teck Township, Ontario, approximately five kilometers northeast of the
historic Kirkland Lake gold camp.
Samples were variously collected from single points and along sampling
lines up to 6 metres long and cutting across mineralized areas by means
of chip and channel sampling over both the stripped areas. The two
stripped areas are more than 40 metres apart and it has yet to be
determined if they are two parts of the same mineralized zone or two
entirely separate zones.
On the eastern stripping area (the Matheson Zone) an approximately 5
metre wide strong shear zone, striking 060 degrees to 080 degrees,
appears to control very high grade gold mineralization. 20 samples
collected over a 12 metre strike length along the shear returned assays
as high as 2305.12 g/t Au (67.22 oz/ton) with coarse visible gold
observed at various locations within the Matheson Zone.

On the western stripping area (the Hillside Zone) a pervasive quartz-
iron carbonate alteration and brecciation over the approximately 16 x 8
metre stripped area has returned assays as high as 40.56 g/t (1.18
oz/ton) from various locations within the zone. The control and
thicknesses of this mineralization as well as its relationship to the
apparently shear controlled high-grade gold mineralization on the
Matheson Zone have yet to be determined.

Northern Gold is now commencing an expanded stripping program to gain
better understanding of the extent and character of the newly discovered
zone through mapping and more systematic sampling, to be followed by
diamond drilling to ascertain the characteristics and potential of this
new discovery in the third dimension. A comprehensive exploration program
of the immediate area surrounding the discovery area is being formulated.
Northern Gold Mining follows certain quality assurance and control
(QA/QC) procedures to ensure sampling and analysis of all exploration
work is conducted in accordance with the best possible practices. The
rock samples collected were sent to the ISO 9001:2000 certified Polymet
Laboratories in Cobalt, Ontario where samples were analyzed for gold
using fire assaying techniques. As part of its QA/QC work, the Company
submits blanks and standards approximately every 50 samples to check for
possible analytical error. Approximately 5% of sample rejects and/or
pulps are sent to different labs for check assaying.
Results of this sampling program and the sampling procedures have been
reviewed by R.V. Zalnieriunas P.Geo. an independent consulting geologist
who is the "Qualified Person" as defined by NI 43-101 for this project.
