Wounded Warrior Project's Soldier Ride Takes a Bite Out of the Big Apple With
the Empire State Challenge
       - Registered charity ride on last day of ride in East Hampton -

    Who:
    Soldier Ride is a program of Wounded Warrior Project that provides key
    rehabilitation opportunities for wounded warriors and raises public
    awareness and money for those that have been severely injured during the
    current war on terror. All participants are provided the adaptive
    equipment they need to cycle with a missing limb or limbs.

    What, When, Where:
    JULY 24:
    8AM: The Empire State Challenge will kick-off on July 24th in mid-town
    Manhattan and run approximately 20 miles with a stop at corporate sponsor
    AIG's headquarters down town at approximately 11:30 am. At 1:30 pm the
    riders will then proceed over the Brooklyn Bridge and conclude the ride in
    Bensonhurst, Brooklyn at 7001 18th Avenue.

    JULY 25:
    9AM: The riders will start at Babylon Town Hall and then ride along the
    water from Jones Beach to Cedar Beach.

    JULY 26:
    10AM: The Empire State Challenge Charity Ride will be held on Saturday,
    July 26 in memory of Marine Lance Corporal Jordan C. Haerter of Sag Harbor
    who was killed in action in Ramadi, Iraq on April 22, 2008.

    Details for the Charity Ride:
    -- Empire State Challenge opening ceremony begins at 10 a.m. at American
Legion Post 419, 15 Montauk Hwy, Amagansett, New York
    -- Participants can choose from three possible events: 62 mile bike ride,
35 mile bike ride or a 4 mile walk
    -- Post ride BBQ for all registered participants, which includes an event
t-shirt for all riders. Registration Fees: Adults $50, Children 15 and under
$25
