Combined Companies Maintain Private Ownership and Local Management
SAN DIEGO--(Business Wire)--
KBM Building Services, one of San Diego's leading professional
contract janitorial companies, has announced a merger with Knightly
Building Services, LLC of Spring Valley, CA, according to Maureen
Gray, CEO of KBM Building Services and Robert Janica, founder of
Knightly Building Services, LLC. The terms of the merger were not
disclosed.

Knightly will become a division of KBM Building Services, and its
management team will remain in place, according to Gray. Knightly was
founded in 2002 by Janica, who had previously been a high level
executive in the hotel and resort industry for more than 10 years.
Knightly specializes in providing commercial cleaning services to the
highest profile hotel properties in San Diego with an emphasis in
cleaning kitchen and restaurants facilities located throughout a hotel
property. The company delivers integrated facility management services
including professional janitorial services, cleaning consulting,
construction clean up and a wide range of detailing services and other
outsourcing services.

KBM Building Services provides a premier level of sustainable
commercial cleaning services to many of the western United States
highest profile office buildings, production and manufacturing
facilities, retail centers and home owners' associations. KBM is an
award winning company defined by unparalleled customer service and
employee satisfaction. The company offers a vast array of services
including but not limited to janitorial services, day porters, floor
and carpet maintenance, pressure washing, window washing,
construction, tenant improvements, help desk, clean room and bio-tech
glass wash staffing and construction clean up. "This is an ideal
merger for KBM, with Knightly bringing to us an extraordinary
expertise in the hospitality industry," said Gray. "We are two strong
regional companies that together can maintain a competitive edge in
the San Diego region."

"KBM's corporate culture, business ethics and company values were
in line with ours at Knightly," said Janica. "KBM has been the
industry leader in our market, and we felt that its level of quality
and customer service were second to none. It will be an exciting
marriage of two great companies."

In recent years, regulators in California and other states have
stepped up oversight of janitorial companies and how they treat their
employees. KBM has been steadfast in their founding commitment of
maintaining a top work environment and exercising best business
practices. The company has been named one of San Diego's Best Places
to Work in both 2006 and 2007 by the San Diego Business Journal. Both
companies believe that this merger will solidify their commitment of
becoming a role model in the janitorial industry.

KBM has also won industry acclaim for its embrace of the ManageMen
Operating System One (OS1(R)), a unique sustainable cleaning program
that transforms custodial programs through in-depth training,
simplicity, safety, reallocation of labor, cleaning frequencies,
automation and environmental stewardship in all facets of the
operation. (OS1(R)) is recognized as the leader in sustainable
cleaning processes and is the only organization to date that has
obtained best practices benchmarks and scientifically verified
statistics for a cleaning process. By focusing on these key factors
KBM, which has employed the (OS1(R)) methodology since 1998, is able
to efficiently reduce many problems associated with traditional
custodial operations. Some of the leading (OS1(R)) users include
Qualcomm, Northrop Grumman, The Boeing Company, Sandia National
Laboratories, FBI Headquarters at Quantico and the University of
Texas, among others.
