Business Process Management (BPM) event to be held October 6-7,
2008
NEEDHAM, Mass.--(Business Wire)--
The Object Management Group(TM) (OMG(TM)), in partnership with
BPTrends, today announced that Jim Sinur, Chief Strategy Officer,
Global 360 will give the keynote presentation "The Economics of
Business Process," and Pat Steinmann, Manager, Request Services
Department, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, will present the case study
"People, Process and Technology: The Evolutionary Nature of
People-centric Processes" at the BPM Think Tank 2008 event. BPM Think
Tank 2008 will be held October 6-7, 2008 at the Crowne Plaza Chicago
O'Hare in Chicago, IL, USA. For more information, visit
http://www.omg.org/tt-update.
BPM Think Tank 2008 attendees will participate in at least three
unique, highly interactive BPM Roundtables over the course of two
days. These roundtables are small, interactive group sessions
moderated by subject matter experts who will introduce the topic and
move on to the group discussion that uniquely characterizes BPM Think
Tank. Presentations before and after the roundtable sessions will
focus on business case studies presented by end users with real-world
experience.
-- Keynote Presentation: Jim Sinur, Chief Strategy Officer,
Global 360 "The Economics of Business Process" - There is a
co-dependency between economics and business processes that is
quite unique. The reality of today's economic conditions
drives the need of the kind of productivity and time to market
that BPM brings to the table. Not only is the economic
opportunity great, but BPM affords the kind of agility to keep
current with the changes that are facing businesses today.
This session will explore how the benefit pools link with
business needs as organizations mature in their leverage of
business processes activity.
-- Case Study Presentation: Pat Steinmann, Manager, Request
Services Department, Enterprise Rent-a-Car "People, Process
and Technology: The Evolutionary Nature of People-centric
Processes" - In 2001, the team that managed the receipt of new
work requests in Enterprise Rent-A-Car's IT Department had to
modify their processes in response to a change in the
company's AS/400 platform. Their approach to this change,
improving how they received work, drove additional change and
ultimately transformed the request and fulfillment process
within the IT organization. Pat Steinmann, Department Manager
for Enterprise's Request Services Department, will share this
journey as an illustration of the interdependencies between
people, process and technology and how just getting started on
process improvement will drive change in your organization.
