STAAR Surgical Announces Second Quarter 2008 Earnings Release Date and
Conference Call

MONROVIA, Calif., July 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- STAAR Surgical Company
(Nasdaq: STAA) today announced that it will release financial results for the
second quarter ended June 27, 2008 on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 after the
market close.  The Company will host a conference call and webcast on
Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time to discuss the Company's
second quarter and current corporate developments.  The dial-in number for the
