ThoughtWorks Inc. Founder and Chairman Neville Roy Singham Leads Panel on Future of Code at Prestigious FORTUNE Brainstorm: TECH
Leader of Respected IT Software Consultancy to Probe Code's Future
Role in Business, Culture and Innovation
CHICAGO--(Business Wire)--
ThoughtWorks, Inc., the Chicago-based transnational professional
services firm specializing in application development and systems
integration, announced today that Founder and Chairman Neville Roy
Singham moderated a dynamic panel at the FORTUNE Brainstorm: TECH
event this week in California.
Additional speakers on Singham's panel include Grady Booch, Chief
Scientist at IBM Rational; David Heinemeier Hansson, Partner at
37signals; and Charles Simonyi, President and CEO of Intentional
Software Corp.
At the core of the discussion, Singham challenged panelists and
conference members to prove that innovation is not dead in IT. "CEO's
outside of our industry feel software developers are irrelevant to
business innovation; as passionate developers focused on infusing the
benefits software can provide into daily interactions, our panel will
discuss how code can truly change the future," said Singham.
Singham is best known for creating ThoughtWorks, which has grown
to a 1,000-person software consultancy with teams around the world.
Clients include Siemens, CAT Financial, major banks and leading
technology and media companies.
ThoughtWorks' chief scientist, Martin Fowler, helped create the
Agile movement, which aims to speed code-writing with a process of
multiple iterations. "A huge percentage of the value created in
society over the next 25 years will come from software," Singham
added.
