TOKYO, July 24 (Reuters) - Japan's top oil refiner Nippon Oil Corp 5001.T said on Thursday its 145,000 barrels per day Sendai refinery was operating normally after a strong earthquake jolted northern Japan.

The units at the refinery continued to operate as normal, including a 145,000 bpd crude distillation unit, a company official at the Miyagi Prefecture-based refinery said.

He added that inspections were under way but that no damage has been identified so far. (Reporting by Osamu Tsukimori; Editing by Chris Gallagher)
