NEW YORK, July 23 |
NEW YORK, July 23 (Reuters) - Ryland Group Inc (RYL.N) posted a deeper quarterly loss on Wednesday, missing analyst estimates, citing inventory write-offs, joint venture impairments and an income tax charge.
The second-quarter net loss widened to $241.6 million, or $5.70 per share, from $52.4 million, or $1.25 per share, a year earlier.
Analysts predicted a loss of 85 cents per share, according to Reuters Estimates. (Reporting by Helen Chernikoff; editing by Jeffrey Benkoe)
