Fujitsu halts quake-hit chip plant for checks

TOKYO, July 24 (Reuters) - Japan's Fujitsu Ltd (6702.T) said on Thursday it stopped production lines at a semiconductor factory in Iwate Prefecture after a strong earthquake hit northern Japan, and was checking to see if there was any damage.

The factory, which was halted in June for a couple days due to quake damage, makes logic chips and is operated by unit Fujitsu Microelectronics. (Reporting by Mayumi Negishi)
