Enbridge profit shoots higher on after-tax gain

TORONTO, July 31 (Reuters) - Enbridge Inc (ENB.TO) said on Thursday its second-quarter profit more than quadrupled as Canada's No. 2 pipeline company had an after tax gain related to the sale of its interest in Compania Logistica de Hidrocarburos.

The company's net income rose to C$657.7 million ($644.8 million), or C$1.81 a share, from C$146.5 million, or 41 Canadian cents, in the second-quarter of 2007.
