NEW YORK--(Business Wire)--
As the company gears up for a season-long celebration of its
milestone 150th birthday, Macy's (NYSE:M) today revealed a first
glimpse of the star power behind the celebration with a series of
commemorative photos shot by famed Rolling Stone photographer Mark
Seliger. Inspired by Macy's storied heritage, the series of celebrity
designer prints - featuring Christina Aguilera, Martha Stewart, Tommy
Hilfiger, Donald Trump and Calvin Klein - nod to Macy's iconic events
and to the brand's fashion and lifestyle significance.

"This is an incredible milestone for Macy's," said Peter Sachse,
president of Macy's Corporate Marketing. "There will be big
celebrations and moments throughout the remainder of 2008, but what
better way to kick off our 150th birthday festivities than with some
of today's most popular stars and designers paying tribute to Macy's
most revered and long-standing icons - all shot through the
extraordinary lens of one of America's most talented photographers."

A special collection of five high-concept images, each photo in
the series is inspired by the Macy's brand, including Christina
Aguilera representing Macy's Flower Shows, Tommy Hilfiger for Macy's
Fourth of July Fireworks, Donald Trump for Macy's Thanksgiving Day
Parade, Calvin Klein for Macy's fashion portfolio and Martha Stewart
for Macy's lifestyle and holiday significance. The images will be on
larger-than-life display at Macy's stores across the country, as well
as in special marketing vehicles that will roll out throughout the
fall and holiday season.

"It's been a privilege to collaborate with Macy's for its 150th
anniversary and to work with such great talent, like Calvin Klein and
Tommy Hilfiger, who are icons in the fashion world; Christina
Aguilera, who is one of the most important voices in popular music;
and Martha Stewart and Donald Trump, who are just about as much of
American icons as you can get, next to Macy's of course," Seliger
said.

Macy's opened on October 28, 1858 as a fancy dry goods store on
the corner of 14th Street and 6th Avenue in New York City. Today, the
brand is 800 stores strong and the leading national department store
retailer in the U.S. Over its 150 year history, Macy's has become a
pop culture influence with the world's largest store at Macy's Herald
Square in Manhattan, beautifully ornamented and merchandised stores in
all major U.S. markets, and mega fashion and holiday events that
garner audiences in the millions.

Macy's will celebrate its 150th birthday throughout the fall and
holiday seasons, with spectacular events, commemorative product,
exciting new exclusive brand launches and special advertising,
marketing and programming content.

JWT New York collaborated with Macy's on this campaign.
