SEATTLE, WA, Jul 31 (MARKET WIRE) --
Adapx (www.adapx.com) today introduced the Capturx Disaster Response Kits
-- designed specifically to help response teams map, collect, and share
data from the scene of wildfires, hurricanes, floods, or other natural
catastrophe strikes. The kits are completely self-contained with a field
printer, supplies, and the award-winning Capturx software that enables
teams to print and mark-up paper maps with a digital pen for immediate
sharing among field teams as well as command and control centers.
Packaged in a ruggedized hard plastic case, the kits can be ordered
online for immediate delivery to disaster sites.
"Capturx allows fire personnel to collect field data on paper maps just as
they always have, but cutting out any transcription process, making it
easier and quicker than ever before to base critical decisions on current
data," explained Tom Patterson, wildland fire specialist at ESRI. "The
Capturx Disaster Kits will be a valuable enhancement for fire crews that
need to collect and disseminate critical data in a timely manner."
Each Capturx Disaster Response Kit includes Capturx for ArcGIS and Capturx
for Microsoft Office OneNote software, 5 digital pens with USB docking
stations, extra ink cartridges, large-format standard paper, 5 all-weather
waterproof field notebooks, and a color OKI printer. Field teams can
simply use the kit with their existing PCs and ArcGIS software in the
field.
Capturx Disaster Response Kits: Specifically Designed for Emergency
Situations
Use of Capturx software to help track and plan response to rapidly
changing wildfires inspired the development of the Capturx Disaster
Response Kits. The digital pen works with ordinary paper, withstands
harsh field conditions, and has memory and battery life to last days in
the field. The same tools that enable real-time mapping of wildfire
conditions and planning, can also help in response to rapidly changing
flood, hurricane, and other disasters where field information needs to be
collected and shared immediately.
