CALABASAS, CA, Jul 31 (MARKET WIRE) --
The National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) today announced its
Certified Personal Trainer Course (NASM-CPT) has been approved for
recertification by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the
accrediting body for the American Dietetic Association (ADA). A total of
75 certified continuing professional education units (CPEUs) will be
awarded to dietetic professionals advancing their careers by enrolling in
the NASM-CPT course. This represents the full amount of CPEUs needed for
recertification every five years for a registered dietitian (RD) and
every three years for a dietitian technician (DTR).

"Gaining the acknowledgement of the Commission on Dietitian Registration
is another third-party validation for the NASM-CPT certification," said
Dr. Micheal Clark, the president and chief executive officer of NASM. "We
have a rigorous quality control protocol in place for the CPT program,
which has great practical use for a variety of nutrition, health and
sports fitness professionals around the country. Our online and
home-study course format allows for great ease-of-use and convenience for
a broad range of NASM certification seekers."

"The key to getting and staying fit is to eat better and move better,"
said NASM's Clark. "Historically, registered dietitians have focused on
eating better, but now with the NASM-CPT, they arm themselves with
knowledge to help clients move better as well."

Tested in the lab and proven in the field, the NASM-CPT emphasizes
movement science, exercise science, nutrition and behavior modification,
and provides goal-specific programs designed for optimal results, accurate
assessment for everyone from first-time gym members to elite athletes.

"Earning the NASM-CPT certification has given me the confidence to provide
my patients the most up-to-date and accurate scientific information on
physical training," said Diana Schilling-Held, MS, RD, newly certified
NASM-CPT. "The best part is that by taking the NASM-CPT course I have
satisfied my RD continuing education credits for an entire five-year
period and have opened a new door to my professional marketability."

In addition to the credibility that comes with the NASM-CPT certification,
dietitians who become credentialed through NASM also receive access to
NASMPRO.com, a new total-fitness online resource. With NASMPRO.com,
members gain access to information and fitness tools that will allow them
to:

-- Create customized resistance, cardio, and nutrition programs for
    clients.
-- Monitor their clients' progress and manage all of their activities and
progress in a centralized, automated environment.
-- Design easy-to-follow, individualized meal plans based on clients'
goals, such as weight loss, weight gain, or moving to specialized dietary
    needs.

NASMPRO.com also offers new revenue streams for individual
professionals with access to new business opportunities and new clients
via a professional registry database. "NASMPRO.com serves as a tremendous
resource for NASM-credentialed health and fitness professionals," said
Ben Tucker, NASM Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "It allows them
to earn more money and become a better resource to their clients."

In support of this new relationship, NASM will attend the ADA Food &
Nutrition Conference in Chicago, Illinois at McCormick Place on October
26-28, 2008. Attendees can visit NASM at booth #52 and booth #2148 for
