Creative work in support of new $380 million Orlando Events Center
spans media from print and video to interactive and branded
environment.
ORLANDO, Fla.--(Business Wire)--
Officials from the City of Orlando and the Orlando Magic broke
ground July 25th on the new $380 million downtown Orlando Events
Center that will become the home of the NBA's Magic in the fall of
2010, while also competing to host major national events, concerts and
family shows. Creative agency 50,000feet has been leading the
branding, positioning and communications efforts for the landmark
project.
"50,000feet has been instrumental in our efforts to position the
new Orlando Events Center as a great destination for our fans and as
an elite opportunity for our potential sponsors and partners," said
Alex Martins, Chief Operating Officer of the Orlando Magic. "Their
work has not only driven our approach to the new center, it has also
pushed us toward our goal to truly make the Magic a championship
organization."
Since January 2008, 50,000feet has been leading the branding and
positioning for the new center, including support of the naming rights
and sponsorship efforts. The agency also led creative efforts to
support sales of suites, premium seats and season tickets at the new
center, including environmental design for the new venue's
state-of-the-art Experience Center.
"At 50,000feet, we believe that strong brands are built from an
integrated approach that includes every aspect of communications, from
identity and advertising to interactive and branded environment," said
Jack Sichterman, 50,000feet President and CEO. "Our collaboration with
the Orlando Magic has been a successful one because they embrace this
approach and their leadership and vision support it completely."
Besides the brand identity that will be announced soon, 50,000feet
has developed several groundbreaking pieces ranging from a steel
briefcase invitation to a 3-foot by 4-foot hard cover book that is
among the largest marketing books ever published. They have also
created traditional sports marketing communications including
brochures, videos and a web site.
"The Magic are committed to the idea of doing something really
special with the new Events Center, not just as a destination for
Central Florida, but for the whole world," said Bryan Kriekard, Design
Director at 50,000feet/Orlando. "They have pushed from day one for us
to deliver world-class communications that position the new center as
one of the best venues in all of sports and entertainment."
