Sky Sports Releases Barclays Premier League 2008-2009 Match Fixtures

LONDON, July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- 2008-2009 Premier League football season
is upon us and fans need go no further than Sky Sports for the top
games - live.
    And it all kicks off in style - the first weekend of the new Barclays
Premier League sees games from last season's top three clubs. First up is
Arsenal v West Bromwich Albion on Saturday 16 August 2008. Then 'Super Sunday'
will feature champions Manchester United and runners-up Chelsea in their first
home games as Portsmouth travel to Stamford Bridge and Newcastle United to Old
Trafford.
    The Big Four clubs, Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal are well
represented - there'll be five head-to-head games between them during the
first four months of the season - live on Sky Sports and they can be seen in
nine other live matches.
    It's not all about the big four though, all twenty Premier League football
clubs can be seen during the first four months of the new season. And as if
that weren't enough for you there'll be eight big Derby games live on Sky
Sports too.
    Overall there'll be 92 live Premier League football matches shown with
every match broadcast in high definition. Sky Sports will also show delayed
coverage of another 242 games from the Barclays Premier League with Sky
digital viewers able to choose highlights on Football First: Match Choice.
Coverage is also offered through mobile and broadband.
    Other goodies include: 70 matches from the Coca-Cola Football League plus
the end-of-season Play-Offs and all three Play Off Finals; a choice of over
100 live games from the UEFA Champions League; live matches from Spain's La
Liga and Northern Ireland's Carnegie League; live ties from the Carling Cup
and Scottish Cup; and live international football including home World Cup
Qualifiers for Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales; plus
South American qualifiers including Argentina and Brazil live.
