Sondra L. Stokes Joins Deloitte's Audit & Enterprise Risk Services Practice

Addition of Former SEC Associate Chief Accountant Bolsters Deloitte's IFRS
Service Offering
NEW YORK, July 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Securities and Exchange
Commission Associate Chief Accountant, Sondra L. Stokes, CPA, recently joined
Deloitte & Touche LLP as a partner in the SEC Services practice. Stokes
specializes in U.S. and international accounting and financial reporting. Her
responsibilities include performing pre-filing reviews of SEC filings,
assisting clients with the SEC comment process and providing assistance and
interpretive guidance to clients on SEC issues, including the application of
International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

Stokes joined the SEC in 2001 as a staff accountant in the Office of
Manufacturing and Construction. In 2004, Stokes became an associate chief
accountant and was responsible for interpreting and promoting the consistent
application of the U.S. securities laws' accounting and reporting
requirements, including the application of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles and IFRS. At the SEC, Stokes worked closely with senior officials
to develop and draft the August 2007 "Concept Release: Allowing U.S. Issuers
to Prepare Financial Statements in Accordance with IFRS."
She began her career in 1994 with another Big Four professional services
firm in the Audit and Business Advisory Practice in the Winston-Salem, NC
office and later served as manager in the Transaction Services, Global Capital
Markets Group in London.
Stokes received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Wake Forest
University. She is a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified
Public Accountants and the American Institute of CPAs.
