First Wind Announces Filing of Registration Statement

NEWTON, Mass.--(Business Wire)--
First Wind Holdings Inc., a leading independent North American
wind energy company, today announced that it has filed a registration
statement on Form S-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission
(the "SEC") relating to the proposed initial public offering of its
Class A common stock. An application will be made to list the Class A
common stock on the Nasdaq Global Market under the symbol "WNDY."
Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, Goldman, Sachs & Co. and JPMorgan
will serve as joint lead book-running managers of this offering.

   The registration statement relating to these securities has been
filed with the SEC, but has not yet become effective. These securities
