Tecore Networks and EGC International Partner to Bring Next-Generation Wireless Networking to Latin America
COLUMBIA, Md. & FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(Business Wire)--
Tecore Networks, a leading provider of GSM, CDMA, 3G and
multi-protocol mobile networks, and EGC International, a global
systems integrator specializing in telecommunications and information
technology, today announced an agreement that enables EGC to
distribute Tecore's wireless infrastructure products throughout Latin
America. EGC's presence in eight Latin American countries and its deep
relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 mobile operators, in combination
with Tecore's 17-year track record in delivering core and radio access
network (RAN) solutions across all major wireless technologies, ensure
that this growing marketplace now has access to the most powerful
wireless networking solutions in the industry.
Similar to other global regions, Latin America continues to
experience aggressive adoption of mobile communications, with over 350
million subscribers. With overall teledensity at approximately 20
percent and markets facing mandated buildouts, innovative and
cost-effective infrastructure options provided by Tecore and EGC are
an ideal fit for the region. The companies will jointly focus on
targeted configurations to deliver feature-rich wireless services in
the fastest-growing sectors:
-- Rural networks
-- Mobile virtual network operators and enablers
-- First responder and emergent military networking requirements
-- Carrier lab systems and specialized networks
-- Maritime and airborne mobile platforms.
The companies' unique value proposition encompasses:
-- Worldwide deployment expertise in GSM, CDMA, 3G and
multi-protocol networks
-- A highly adaptable, software-defined networking architecture
-- Readily deployable configurations for a wide array of network
requirements
-- A full suite of in-country professional services including
commissioning, training and ongoing support.
"Our award-winning wireless infrastructure products have powered
nationwide networks and specialized systems in many parts of the
globe, and we are excited to bring them to Latin America," said Scott
Hill, Executive Vice President of Global Commercial and Federal Sales,
Tecore Networks. "This partnership is a win-win-win: for Tecore, for
EGC, and for mobile users throughout the region."
"This agreement with Tecore Networks will serve as a catalyst in
strengthening our relationship with telecom operators in the region,"
said Edgar Gomez, Vice President of Sales, EGC International Corp.
"With our existing presence and Tecore Networks' portfolio of
products, we can further expand our expertise in developing telecom
solutions in the region."
