BERLIN- (TENTATIVE) Peace talks over the region of Abkhazia
expected to be held in Berlin (in late July or august). The
Georgian Government and rebels have been invited to attend the
talks along with Russia, the U.S and EU.-
 
 SATURDAY, AUGUST 2
 TEHRAN- Deadline by which Iran must answer calls to rein in its
nuclear activities or face further sanctions. EU foreign policy
chief Javier Solana and envoys from from Britain, France,
Germany, Russian, China and the United states met with Iran's
chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili on Saturday July 19 and
requested Iran to reply within two-weeks on its offer of
nuclear, trade and other incentives to help halt it's sensitive
nuclear activities.-

 FRANKFURT- ECB Governing Council meeting, followed by interest
rate announcement 1145 GMT. News conference by ECB President
Jean-Claude Trichet follows at 1230 GMT.-
