RealNetworks posts quarterly loss while revenue up

SAN FRANCISCO, July 31 (Reuters) - U.S. digital media company RealNetworks Inc (RNWK.O) posted a second-quarter net loss versus a year-earlier profit, while its revenue rose 12 percent.

The Seattle-based company said its net loss in the second quarter was $1.3 million, or 1 cent per share, compared with a net profit of $1.3 million, or 1 cent per share, in the year- earlier period. Revenue rose to $152.6 million from $136.2 million a year earlier. (Reporting by Jim Christie)
