TNT ready to nurse single-mom pilot "Time"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - TNT has given the green light to "Time Heals," a drama pilot from Emmy-winning writer-producer John Masius.

The project centers on Nancy Hawthorne, the strong but caring director of nursing at Charlotte Mercy Hospital in North Carolina, a single mother who always puts the pain of others first.

With a strong woman character at the center of a classic procedural, "Time Heals" follows in the footsteps of TNT crime dramas "The Closer," starring Kyra Segwick, and "Saving Grace," starring Holly Hunter.

Masius, who won an Emmy for his work on "St. Elsewhere," wrote the script and will executive produce with Jamie Tarses. He also created such series as "Touched by an Angel" and "Providence."
