Performance and Talent Management Leader Expands Dominance in Key
Vertical With Dedicated Practice, Industry-Specific Products,
Specialized Sales and Implementation Teams
SAN MATEO, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
SuccessFactors, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFSF), the global leader in on-demand
performance and talent management solutions, today announced continued
success in customer acquisition in the patient care industry. Within
the last year, SuccessFactors created a dedicated practice with
specialized products, sales and implementation teams and product
experts solely focused on patient care - a strategy that has proven to
be effective. SuccessFactors enjoys relationships with hundreds of
healthcare facilities - from regional medical facilities such as
Yoakum Community Hospital and Phelps County Regional Medical Center to
integrated hospital networks like Danbury Health Systems, which is
comprised of seven hospitals in Connecticut. The many hospitals and
patient care facilities represent several hundred thousand patient
care workers deployed on its suite, enabling SuccessFactors to be a
dominant provider of human capital management solutions for the
patient care industry. The company added 25 healthcare entities which
represented 45 hospitals in 2007, and is rapidly extending its
customer adoption in 2008.
Lars Dalgaard, chief executive officer for SuccessFactors, said,
"Patient care organizations have rapidly embraced SuccessFactors
because we uniquely offer an integrated solution with a light
footprint on IT. Our solutions easily integrate with HRIS systems and
we deliver industry-specific content, tools and applications for these
companies to increase their top-line results. SuccessFactors delivers
the total package for the healthcare industry to retain a
high-performing workforce."
Customer in Action: Danbury Hospital
Danbury Hospital, the flagship of Danbury Health System, is
consistently ranked in the "top 5% of hospitals" nationwide by
HealthGrades. The hospital's management believed in the business value
of deploying a performance and talent management solution, recognizing
that employee engagement in a pay-for-performance culture could
improve their bottom line. Facilitating JCAHO compliance, automating
their compensation processes, having an easy-to-use system for all
users, and proven experience with other hospitals were key
requirements. In a selection process of seven vendors, led by Phyllis
Zappala, senior vice president of human resources for Danbury
Hospital, SuccessFactors was Danbury's choice for its 3,800 users.
Nearly all industries are affected by an aging workforce, but few
are more severely impacted as patient care. The average age of nurses
and nurse leaders approaches 50 years, and estimates have shown that
as many as 35 percent of nurses and a quarter of healthcare leaders
are set to retire over the next few years. The compliance requirements
around managing healthcare employees and the mandate for hospitals and
practices to maximize productivity with limited resources add to the
need for solutions that can revolutionize a workforce.
Rapidly-Deployable, Industry-Specific Products
To facilitate rapid deployments and enable continued customer
success, the company has created healthcare-specific implementation
teams and products. Earlier this year, SuccessFactors released a
version of its SuccessPractices suite for healthcare. SuccessPractices
is a set of pre-configured applications that help companies enjoy
early successes in their performance and talent management initiatives
with best practices gathered from other healthcare-related
deployments. These solutions enable organizations to drive performance
by linking individual contributors to organizational strategy,
pay-for-performance, recognition of skills, and development of
specific needs.
SuccessFactors' Job Description Manager, another solution widely
embraced in patient care, enables customers to create, track and
measure competency-based job descriptions (for compliance requirements
such as Joint Commission) in a single repository and dynamically pull
pieces of job descriptions into evaluation forms. The tool enables
managers and administrators to merge multiple roles and customize for
an individual's accurate performance profile. Job Description Manager
also delivers valuable industry relevant content with more than 780
job descriptions and 18,000 competencies.
SuccessFactors Performance and Talent Management Suite of
applications include Performance Management, Goal Management, 360
Degree Reviews, Succession Management, Compensation Management,
Learning and Development, Recruiting Management, Employee Profile, and
Analytics and Reporting, which collectively create a company-wide
network of information related to employee performance, including
skill-sets, interests, career aspirations, ability to relocate,
experience, languages spoken and more. By providing deep, real-time,
company-wide visibility into such critical performance data, companies
are able to make better, more informed decisions about how to promote,
recruit, compensate, reward and manage their entire employee base.
