SIGA Technologies to Announce Second Quarter 2008 Results of Operations on
August 12, 2008

NEW YORK, Aug. 5, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- SIGA Technologies, Inc.
(Nasdaq:SIGA), a company specializing in the development of pharmaceutical
agents to fight bio-warfare pathogens, plans to announce its second quarter 2008
results in a press release that will be issued on Tuesday, August 12, 2008
before the market open. The Company has scheduled a conference call and
simultaneous webcast to discuss the results at 10:00 am ET on Tuesday, August
