Health Robotics Announces a New Exclusive Partnership for its CytoCare(TM) Robot and a Review of its Customer Adoption and Sales Operations Worldwide Over the Last 12 Months KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.--(Business Wire)-- Health Robotics today announced an exclusive agreement with Can-Med, a leading IV Solution provider and medical device company in the Republic of Turkey, in order to safely, accurately, and cost-effectively automate the preparation of life-critical patient-specific Oncology IV Admixtures with Health Robotics' CytoCare(TM). With its CytoCare(TM) Robot, Health Robotics has developed and deployed the world's first and only totally automated system for safe preparation of patient-specific Oncology IV doses in Europe, the United States of America, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East. While other companies have for years made promises of robotic automation products in this area and showcased marketing demonstrations of competing solutions that were supposed to exist as far back as five years ago, the fact remains that CytoCare(TM) is the only available solution that currently exists anywhere in the world to automatically compound and prepare hazardous and non-hazardous Oncology IV doses, and that has been proven in a "live" hospital environment. "CytoCare(TM) constitutes a revolutionary advance for patients and clinicians' safety. This exclusive partnership with Health Robotics combines unique state-of-the-art robotics technology with Can-Med's leading medical devices and IV Admixture services to achieve the protection, accuracy and sterility that we required for automating patient-specific IV Admixture preparations. The resulting solution is the only totally automated system for safe handling and preparation of hazardous IV Admixtures truly available anywhere in the world," stated Ramazan Balak, General Manager of Can-Med. "In this day, age and industry full of false vendor promises, it was very satisfying to have Health Robotics ship two CytoCare(TM) units less than one month after we purchased them. We have ordered another two CytoCare(TM) units for September delivery and an additional 13 robots over the next six months. This agreement tightly fits with Can-Med's mission of becoming customers' first choice for Infusion Therapy and providing world-class technology for our IV pharmacy operations. We hope that this strategic collaboration with Health Robotics grows over time in delivering improved patient safety solutions to our IV medication customer sites in areas beyond oncology and to continue the integration work we have initiated between CytoCare(TM) and our industry-leading BD syringes and EVA IV bags light-protected medical products. We also hope to soon reach an agreement with Health Robotics on expanding CytoCare(TM) utilization rights in other countries such as Israel and Iran. Once we saw the robot in a live operation, effectively and efficiently producing doses for real patients at Bozen General Hospital, and discussed its proven features and benefits with both the Chief Pharmacist, Dr. Paluselli, and the Sterile Compounding Pharmacist, Alicia Tavella, we were convinced that CytoCare(TM) was both the answer for our current needs and the gold standard for the future of our company and our customers," concluded Hilmi Sunay, General Manager of Can-Med's IV Therapy. Over the past year Health Robotics has significantly added to its already impressive leadership position in the sector of IV Admixtures automation. The company has solidified its partnership with B|Braun in some European and Asia-Pacific countries; secondly, very positive dividends are beginning to emerge out of the investments we and our partners have made with CytoCare(TM) in USA, Middle East and Japan; and lastly, the company has received an unprecedented positive response to the announcement of its non-hazardous IV medications solution IV Station(TM). "We are very pleased to be working with such serious partners as Can-Med. They join a growing list of health care providers that have installed CytoCare(TM) since we launched it," stated Werner Rainer, CEO of Health Robotics. "From a customer adoption perspective I would like to share that in a little more than one year we have installed more IV robots than all of our competitors have sold in over 10 years of trying, and we have received purchase orders for over several hundred more robots than all of our competitors combined. Recently we are very pleased to see great progress in the hospitals' reception for CytoCare(TM) in new countries such as Germany, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, France, Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Austria, and also in the United States with installations at the University of Michigan, Jackson Memorial Hospital, the University of Pennsylvania, and Brigham and Women's Hospital. From the perspective of how our customers are deploying CytoCare(TM), I am also pleased to share that extensive tests with thousands of IV doses conducted by both the University of Colorado in Denver and Charing Cross NHS in London have proven in the real-world environment that CytoCare(TM) features prevent cross-contamination and deliver sterile and extremely accurate, ready-to-administer Oncology IV doses," concluded Rainer.
