Winning Director to Work With Legendary RSA Films on Official Music Video for
Low vs Diamond
NEW YORK, Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Epic Records and Massify.com, the online
production network, today announced a music video competition to give
next-generation filmmakers and actors a breakout chance to launch their
careers. The competition will use Massify's social network to discover
up-and-coming directorial and on-screen talent and empower that talent through
professional mentorship and production support. Massify has partnered with
award-winning RSA Films to produce the official music video for "Don't Forget
Sister," by the Los Angeles-based band, Low vs Diamond.
"This is more than just a great way for us to promote Low vs Diamond and
really engage their fans with the music," said Lee Stimmel, EVP of marketing
for Epic Records. "We're looking at this as a way to find and break new video
talent as well."
"In a world where everybody creates content, our challenge is to identify
and cultivate the real rising stars," said Jules Daly, president of RSA Films.
"Massify gives us access to an untapped pool of true next-generation
directors."
Finalists will be chosen on the Massify web site by a combination of
expert judging and an audience vote, and the winning director will receive
professional production resources and guidance from RSA Films, one of the
world's leading film, television, commercial, and music video production
companies. The winner will get to work closely with Low vs Diamond, while the
winning actor will star in their official video.
"Massify is committed to fostering career-making opportunities for
filmmakers," said Kenneth Woo, president and co-founder of Massify. "This
contest fulfills the promise of our network-to connect the best and brightest
young talent with some of the biggest names in entertainment."
Along with being praised as a "band to watch in 2008" by Los Angeles Times
and being chosen by iTunes as one of their favorite up-and-coming bands of
2008, Access Hollywood, Filter, Detour, Giant, CNN, NME and many others have
taken notice of Low vs Diamond's uncompromising powerful record full of
cinematic tracks and undeniable melodies. Rolling Stone magazine recently
included the band in their "hot list" section and Los Angeles Times raved,
"standing precipitously between overwrought melancholy and chimey hopefulness,
avoiding both excesses...the band's music plays to an optimism that stops
short of outright glee." YRB Magazine praises Low vs Diamond for "composing a
debut album full of heart, soul and eclectic musical sounds that's sure to
leave you wanting more," while Nylon goes on to say "Low vs Diamond will have
you singing along until the last power chord fades out. Their major label
debut is going to be big."
CONTEST DETAILS
-- Until September 22, Massify invites directors to "pitch" their idea for
the music video to "Don't Forget Sister" by submitting a storyboard and a

-- A panel of industry experts will then choose the top five pitches, and
the community will vote to select the winning director.
-- Starting on October 17, Massify will invite actors to submit online
auditions for the lead role(s) in the winning pitch. Again, the top five
finalists for each lead role will be chosen by the panel, and the community
will decide the winner.
