SEMCO ENERGY Gas Company Announces Service Disruption in a Section of Bedford
Township

BATTLE CREEK, Mich., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- SEMCO ENERGY GAS COMPANY is
working to restore natural gas service to about 650 customers in a section of
Bedford Township after a main replacement project resulted in a low-pressure
situation today.
The affected area is bounded by Morgan Road, North Avenue, Goodale Avenue
and Washington Avenue.
As part of the standard relighting procedure, SEMCO ENERGY Service
Technicians will turn off service at the meter for all customers in the
affected area. After the repairs are completed and natural gas restored to the
system, SEMCO ENERGY Service Technicians will restore service and re-light
natural gas appliances for all affected customers.
SEMCO ENERGY crews will work through the night and into Wednesday to
complete the procedures. Customers are asked to stay tuned to local media for
updates.
    SEMCO ENERGY reminds customers that:
-- They should not touch or operate any Gas Company-owned equipment, such
as gas meters and regulators.
-- Do not attempt to restore natural gas service to your home or business.
When repairs are completed a SEMCO ENERGY Service Technician will re-establish
your service.
-- When service restorations begin, someone must be on the premises to
allow access to your building so a Service Technician can complete your
natural gas re-light procedures.
-- If a Service Technician cannot gain access to conduct re-light
procedures, a notice will be left with instructions on how to contact SEMCO
ENERGY to have service restored.
SEMCO ENERGY, Inc. distributes natural gas to more than 400,000 customers
combined in Michigan, as SEMCO ENERGY GAS COMPANY, and in Alaska, as ENSTAR
Natural Gas Company. It also owns and operates businesses involved in propane
distribution, intrastate pipelines and natural gas storage in various regions
of the United States.
