Spare the Air Music Festival Announces Line-Up

FULLERTON, Calif., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- The line-up for the Spare the
Air music festival, which will take place at the Fullerton Transportation
Center in Fullerton, CA from 11am to 8pm on Saturday, August 30, was announced
today by Sean Francis, the event's promoter and organizer.
"In 1994, we started what eventually became the largest Earth Day festival
in the United States," said Francis. "With the wide range of environmental
issues confronting our planet, from global warming to depleting energy
sources, our focus is to promote awareness of public transportation options,
global warming and alternative fuels and energies.
Hosted by KROQ's Stryker, the line-up for the main stage of the festival
will feature an acoustic performance by The Used, Saosin, Lit, Sugarcult,
Death by Stereo, John Easdale of Dramarama, Divide the Day and Longway. The
line-up for the Ozone Dance Tent will feature Peanut Butter Wolf, DJ Harvey,
B-Side Players, Free the Robots, DJ Pubes and Jamie Allensworth. Attendance
is anticipated to be upward of 20,000 people.
Spare the Air is a program established by the Air Quality Management
District to combat air pollution during the summer, the season when clear
skies, hot temperatures, lighter winds, and a strong temperature inversion
combine and trap air pollutants near the ground.
Tickets are currently on sale through TicketMaster charge-by-phone lines
at (213) 480-3232 and at all TicketMaster retail ticket centers or online at
http://www.ticketmaster.com. KROQ 106.7 will sponsor the event, and ticket
prices are set at $10.67.
