Company to Help Local Businesses, Schools and Community Groups Rebuild Area
TROY, Mich., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Entertainment Publications, Inc., the
leading provider of promotions and discounts, announced today the return of
the New Orleans Entertainment(R) membership book. Scheduled to release in the
third quarter of 2009, the Entertainment(R) membership book will support the
community's rebuilding efforts by helping to drive customer traffic to local
businesses and raise much-needed funds for New Orleans schools and community
groups. The company will also donate a portion of the proceeds of next year's
New Orleans Entertainment(R) membership book to a yet to-be-named local
charity.
The 2010 Entertainment(R) membership book will be sold by area schools and
community groups as a way to raise funds for their various causes next year.
Each book will contain thousands of dollars in savings in the form of
buy-one-get-one and up to 50%-off coupons for businesses located in the
Greater New Orleans area including restaurants, retailers, hotels, attractions
and more. Fundraising groups and businesses are currently enrolling to
participate in next year's Entertainment(R) program.
"The year before Hurricane Katrina, Entertainment helped raise over
$870,000 for New Orleans area schools and community groups, and generate sales
for over 400 local businesses," said MaryAnn Rivers, President and CEO for
Entertainment Publications. "We look forward to rebuilding the New Orleans
Entertainment(R) book while contributing to the rebuilding efforts currently
underway, and bringing its residents the best deals and discounts for when
they dine, shop and travel."
The Entertainment(R) book has a more than 15-year history of promoting
merchants and raising funds for schools and community groups in New Orleans.
The New Orleans edition of the Entertainment(R) book was temporarily
discontinued as a result of Hurricane Katrina. According to the LA Geographic
Information Center, 71,000 businesses and 930 primary schools in the state
were directly impacted by Hurricane Katrina.
