Leading Outdoors Retailer Launches New Website

ST. PAUL, Minn., Aug. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gander Mountain, the
nation's largest retail network of stores for hunting, fishing, camping,
boating, marine, and outdoor lifestyle apparel and footwear, products and
services, announced today that GanderMtn.com is now open for business.
GanderMtn.com is a brand new website, providing customers a whole new way to
shop and find product information online.
GanderMtn.com will carry the same brand names found in the stores, along
with a wide selection of items with the Gander Mountain brand. The retailer
is launching its website with 10,000 of its best selling and seasonal items,
and will be adding new items almost daily.
Through GanderMtn.com, customers will be able to sign up to receive
information about seminars, store events and new product launches, as well as
the new Gander Mountain catalog which will be sent to customers' mailboxes in
the coming weeks. The new catalog will feature 244 pages of products, and
marks Gander Mountain's return to its historical beginnings as the first
outdoors retail catalog company when it was established in 1960.
GanderMtn.com's unique features allow the customer to interact with the
site, and more features will be added over time. The site includes a bragging
board where customers will be able to upload photos of their latest hunting or
fishing adventure. Customers will also be able to write product reviews and
read other customer reviews prior to making a purchase. To receive assistance,
customers will have the option to contact a Gander Mountain associate via
phone, email or an interactive live chat feature.
"At Gander Mountain, we truly enjoy sharing in the outdoor experience with
our customers, and we didn't want to lose that sense of community and personal
service when we launched GanderMtn.com. These interactive features and
customer service contact options complement what we are doing in our 115
retail stores," said Baker.
The launch of GanderMtn.com completes a key objective for Gander Mountain
as the company returns to its roots in direct sales. The new website makes
the retailer a true multi-channel marketer with the ability to sell products
to customers in all 50 states. GanderMtn.com was tested over the past month,
allowing the company to make adjustments prior to going live.
The size of the potential market in the outdoor lifestyle industry is
estimated to represent more than $50 billion in annual sales. Gander
Mountain's fiscal 2007 sales were approximately $970 million and the company
views direct marketing as a significant opportunity to increase sales and
profitability.
