UPDATE 1-Learning Tree Q3 posts results below market view

Aug 5 (Reuters) - Learning Tree International Inc (LTRE.O), a developer of information technology training courses, posted lower-than-expected quarterly results, hurt by rise in operating expenses.
For the latest third quarter ending June 27, the company posted earnings of $4.2 million, or 25 cents a share.
The company had costs of $0.6 million related to its potential sale. Including these charges, earnings was $3.8 million, or 23 cents a share, compared with $3.7 million, or 22 cent a share, a year earlier.
Revenue for the quarter were $46.9 million, a 10 percent increase.
Analysts on average had expected earnings of 26 cents a share, excluding items, on revenue of $47.5 million, according to Reuters Estimates.
Operating expenses rose 12 percent to $22 million.
Shares of the company were down 2 percent at $15.38 in trading after the bell. They closed down 22 cents at $15.75 in regular session earlier. (Reporting by Amulya Nagaraj in Bangalore; Editing by Gopakumar Warrier)
