Priceline posts higher net income as bookings rise

CHICAGO Aug 5 (Reuters) - Online travel agency Priceline.com (PCLN.O) on Tuesday posted higher second quarter net income on a 71 percent jump in travel bookings.

The company said its second-quarter net income rose to $54.1 million, or $1.08 per share, from $34.6 million, or 79 cents per share in the year ago period. (Reporting by Kyle Peterson; editing by Carol Bishopric)
