Axis-Shield H1 pretax profit 1.6 mln pounds

LONDON Aug 27 (Reuters) - Axis-Shield Plc ASD.L said on Wednesday H1 pretax profits were 1.6 million pounds ($2.95 million) compared with 1.1 million pounds a year ago.
The diagnostics company said cash at end-June was 5.0 million pounds compared with 8.1 million last time.
