Shell says Scottish gas terminal due back Saturday

LONDON Aug 27 (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell's (RDSa.L) gas import terminal in Scotland is on track to reopen on Saturday after mondernisation work which began in mid-August, a company spokesman said on Wednesday.

Shell's terminal at St Fergus closed for the first time in 18 years on Aug. 18, stopping three pipelines from delivering gas from North Sea fields to Britain.

"Everything is on schedule and they are still talking about a resumption date of around Aug. 30," the spokesman said.

The terminal typically processes over 30 million cubic metres of gas a day during peak winter demand periods.

The other two gas import terminals at St Fergus -- operated by ExxonMobil (XOM.N) and Total (TOTF.PA) -- have not been affected by the work. (Reporting by Daniel Fineren)
