MDdatacor Designated as Approved Vendor by CMS for Physician Quality Reporting
Initiative
ATLANTA, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- MDdatacor, Inc., a leader in health care
quality management solutions for health plans and providers, announced today
that CMS has approved the company as a vendor for the Centers for Medicare &
Medicaid Services (CMS).
MDdatacor will automate the collection and submission of clinical
information for CMS, relieving the administrative burden of having to
hand-write data collection worksheets or manually enter data into a registry
system. MDdatacor's patented and interoperable CareInformatix(TM) technology
collects clinical data from physician practices' existing electronic medical
record, practice management, lab and registry systems, regardless of vendor,
as well as from transcribed notes.
Specifically, MDdatacor will submit quality measures data on behalf of
providers to CMS as part of the organization's Physician Quality Reporting
Initiative (PQRI) for 2008. PQRI is a voluntary pay-for-reporting program
designed to improve the quality of patient care provided to Medicare
beneficiaries. The program provides payment of up to 1.5% of the total allowed
charges for covered Medicare physician fee schedule services to eligible
healthcare professionals who successfully report PQRI quality measures.
"MDdatacor has a proven track record of providing physicians with tools
that improve patient care while helping them achieve financial rewards for
delivering high-quality, evidence-based care," said Tim Roche, co-founder,
president and chief executive officer of MDdatacor. "The selection of
MDdatacor as an approved CMS vendor demonstrates a viable alternative to using
just claims data or manually collecting clinical data for PQRI reporting, even
within organizations using disparate IT systems."
