Destination Marketing Makes Revolutionary Effort to Attract Millennials
BUCKS COUNTY, Pa., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Bucks County Conference and
Visitors Bureau (BCCVB) is on the leading edge of "viral tourism" with the
recently released five-episode series of videos appearing on Internet sites
including YouTube, FaceBook, Vimeo and others. Exposing the Bucks County brand
to a new audience, the quirky, documentary-style videos speak to the
Millennial generation where they listen - the Internet.
"It's a revolutionary approach to traditional destination marketing," says
David West, marketing director for BCCVB. "This is a county known for its
great beauty and history, and we need to market our story to that growing
audience that demands creativity and freshness of approach so that they can
emotionally connect with Bucks County."
The documentary-style videos play off the upcoming presidential election,
one that is drawing the attention of younger voters more than any other recent
political race. The campaign reveals the excitement and allure of Bucks County
to the key 18-to-45-year-old demographic, who may not be familiar with the
charming county steeped in national history that also boasts flourishing
nightlife and adventure venues. The series takes viewers on a virtual tour of
historic Bucks County, the place where George Washington crossed the Delaware
River in 1776, and engages the younger set with humor, drawing them in to the
scenic and cultural offerings of the county.
