Maryland program includes partnership with the University of
Maryland and the voice of Tom McMillen
LINTHICUM, Md.--(Business Wire)--
The Charmer Sunbelt Group, one of the nation's leading
distributors of wine and spirits, is joining with the University of
Maryland and the Terrapin Sports Radio Network to air a series of
public service announcements reminding listeners to adhere to beverage
alcohol laws and reinforcing that 21 is the legal drinking age.

The PSAs will feature the voice of Maryland Alum and three-time
All American C. Thomas McMillen and will air during radio broadcasts
on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network this fall, beginning on
Wednesday, August 27.

The initiative is part of a broader campaign, TURF - Tailgaters
Urging Responsibility and Fun - a public service program to encourage
responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages and curbing
unsportsmanlike conduct among fans during sporting events. TURF was
created by The Charmer Sunbelt Group in cooperation with the Wine &
Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA). The program seeks to partner
with community leaders, school administrators, legislators,
regulators, retailers, government officials, law enforcement and
parents to support zero tolerance for underage drinking and drunk
driving and responsible consumption of all alcoholic beverages. The
University of Maryland is the first school to join the program, a move
which program coordinators hope will set an example for universities
and colleges to follow.
