UNITE HERE Local 54 Secures Signatures for Public Vote on Revel Entertainment Casino Bond Financing

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J.--(Business Wire)--
UNITE HERE Local 54 announced it submitted a referendum petition
to allow Atlantic City residents to vote on the City Council's recent
decision to negotiate an agreement to provide $56 million in municipal
bond financing to Revel Entertainment Group, LLC.

"The response from the people of Atlantic City has been
overwhelming, and we have submitted far in excess of the required
number of signatures needed to send this Revel Entertainment municipal
bond financing deal to a vote of the people," said Bob McDevitt,
President of Local 54.

On August 6, the City Council of Atlantic City voted to approve an
Ordinance to negotiate a contract to provide $56 million in municipal
bond financing to Revel Entertainment Group. The company is currently
in the process of developing a casino resort on twenty acres of land
along the Atlantic City boardwalk.

UNITE HERE Local 54 represents workers at all 11 casinos in
Atlantic City, and recently concluded successful contract renewal
negotiations with the Borgata. In 2004, Local 54 waged a 34 day strike
at seven Atlantic City casinos, the longest strike in Atlantic City
history. In 2007, Local 54 opposed the license renewal of the
Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City.
