PARK CITY, UT, Aug 27 (MARKET WIRE) --
The Society of Payment Security Professionals, in conjunction with The
Aegenis Group, is proud to introduce a new professional certification
exam, the Certified Payment Card Industry Security Auditor (CPISA). The
CPISA certification is a complement to the existing Certified Payment
Card Industry Manager (CPISM).
"In response to increasing market demand for a more technical auditing
certification, specific to the payment card industry, the Society of
Payment Security Professionals has created the CPISA to complement the
popular CPISM certification. The CPISA has been developed for security and
auditing practitioners that are responsible for ensuring their
organizations comply with relevant payment card industry regulations and
standards such as the PCI DSS, as well as FACTA, GLBA, and state breach
notification laws. The objective of the CPISA certification is to empower
merchants, banks, and other stakeholders to maintain the security of
sensitive data in an increasingly hostile environment." Dr. Heather Mark,
PhD, CPISM, Executive Director of the Society of Payment Security
Professionals.
The CPISA is a 185-question exam that will incorporate the first 8 domains
of the CPISM and add an additional 9th domain specific to information
security and auditing. The common domains are:
* Payment card industry structure
* Payment card structure and data
* Payment card transaction processing
* Compromise fraud statistics and trends
* Merchant risk analysis
* Laws and the regulatory environment
* Payment card security programs
* Third party relationships
The 9th domain will be a more technically focused domain that will
include clusters that address Information Technology and Networking,
Information Security Concepts and Technology, and Auditing.
Training for the CPISM and CPISA credentials is provided by The Aegenis
Group. The Aegenis Group is responsible for training all QSA worldwide as
well as providing security and PCI-related training on behalf of the major
card brands. According to Mike Dahn, CPISM, "By leveraging the same
trainers that support the card brands and QSA community, the Society can
ensure continuity of messaging and accuracy of information."
The first public CPISA training and examination will be held November 4-7,
2008 in Dallas, TX. For more information and registration, visit
