Qwest Foundation to Award $100,000 to Minnesota Public School Teachers in
Qwest Teachers & Technology Grant Program
Program Recognizes and Supports Public School Teachers Who Find Innovative
Ways to Apply Technology to Improve Student Achievement
MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Qwest Foundation and the
Minnesota Business Partnership Education Foundation announced today that they
will again award $100,000 to Minnesota public school teachers through the
Qwest Teachers and Technology Grant Program.
"Smart and effective use of technology is key to Qwest's success and the
future of Minnesota's students," said John Stanoch, Minnesota president of
Qwest. "We want to encourage and reward educators who are applying technology
in new and creative ways to engage students in learning."
Application information is available at http://www.mnbp.com. Applications
are being accepted through Nov. 30. All grants will be presented in April and
May of 2009.
Entering its third year, the Qwest Teachers and Technology Grant Program
has presented more than $150,000 in grants to 25 Minnesota educators with
creative and innovative plans for using technology as tools to help students
learn.

and excitement these awards create," said Charlie Weaver, executive director
of the Minnesota Business Partnership. "We're looking forward to reviewing
this year's proposals."
