AIAG Launches New Training Courses to Assist Automotive Supply Chain
Organizations with the EU REACH Regulations

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Automotive Industry Action
Group (AIAG) has developed a portfolio of NEW training opportunities to
provide global automotive supply chain organizations with the tools to address
the complex rules under the European Union REACH Regulation. REACH requires
all manufacturers and importers of chemicals into EU member states to identify
and manage risks linked to the substances they manufacture and market.
    (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20040719/DEM007LOGO )
Due to the critical nature of REACH and the window of time allotted for
pre-registration, AIAG is working to communicate and educate the global supply
chain to reduce the administrative costs and burden on suppliers, improve
compliance and mitigate the risk of supply interruption.
In order to develop successful REACH strategies, companies must ensure
that a cross-section of professional disciplines are trained. AIAG REACH
courses include:
-- Traditional interactive classroom experience, two new half-day courses
focusing on:
      * Pre-registration and registration requirements
      * Substances of very high concern (SVHC) reporting.
-- Customized workshops, tailored to a company's products and chemical
registration needs, provide training for an entire team.
-- A web cast of the recent AIAG REACH Symposium, where legal and
automotive REACH experts presented critical information to prepare
organizations to preregister.
-- Web-based e-learning course providing in-depth training on topics such
as chemical inventory management, the technical identification of substances
used in preparations and articles with intentionally released substances of
concern, tonnage and Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) concentration
calculation.
All courses are available for registration immediately online at
www.aiag.org . For more information on AIAG's REACH training programs and all
