LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Aug. 27, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Retro Television Network
(RTN) announced today that it has entered into an agreement with New Age Media
to launch RTN affiliates in five new markets. The new affiliates will air on
digital streams of WQMY in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Pennsylvania, WPXT in
Portland, Maine, WTLH in Tallahassee, Florida, analog station WYPN-CA in
Gainesville, Florida, and a new television station in Columbus/Tupelo,
Mississippi. The RTN affiliations are anticipated to sign on in early 2009.
"We look forward to our partnership with RTN and adding quality digital
programming options to the viewers in our markets," said Linda Greenwald,
Corporate Program Director for New Age Media.
"RTN offers broadcasters a fully operational, turn-key solution to help them
monetize their spectrum," said Mark Dvornik, Executive Vice President of RTN.
"We are excited to have New Age Media join the growing RTN affiliate body."
RTN is the first completely-customizable, national television network to provide
a 24/7 digital feed of hit shows to each of its affiliates. The network's unique
design allows each affiliate to remain in complete control while RTN runs the
local and national master control from its central hub. RTN also offers
customizable news and weather for each market, hosted by network-provided
talent.
RTN has currently signed more than 80 affiliates and is the country's
fastest-growing digital network.
