AUSTIN, Texas, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Emerging baby products company
thinkbaby(TM) announced its partnership with Healthy Child Healthy World, the
nation's leading children's environmental health and eco-advocacy non-profit,
to continue promoting children's health on a global scale. The partnership
will maintain a special emphasis on educating consumers on toxic chemicals
commonly found in plastic baby products.
thinkbaby(TM) has worked with leading scientists and testing laboratories
to create a line of baby bottles and sippy cups which have undergone extensive
testing to eliminate toxic chemicals.
"Our main focus is being mindful of potential toxins," explains Kevin
Brodwick, founder of thinkbaby(TM). "We test our products down to levels of
one part per trillion and use cutting edge technology to ensure toxic
chemicals do not enter into or leach from our products."
Laboratory research on everyday products continues to draw a global
concern from scientists, consumers and the media. The issue centers on the
ability of some foreign chemicals to mimic naturally occurring human hormones.
Unfortunately, these hormone-disrupting chemicals have been shown to have
effects at low parts per billion, and are so persistent as to lodge themselves
in fat stores and be recycled in the body. The effects of these chemicals are
wide ranging and startling. In laboratory animals hormone-disrupting chemicals
have been linked to an increased risk for breast cancer, prostate cancer, Type
II diabetes, alteration of sexual maturation, infertility and obesity.
Research has also shown a correlation between hormone disrupting chemicals and
developmental disorders in children.
thinkbaby(TM) and Healthy Child Healthy World will work together to
promote child safety by participating in parent discussion forums, online
webinars, consumer trade shows and speaking engagements. A portion of all
thinkbaby(TM) proceeds go toward continuing Healthy Child's important mission.
"Over the last two years, Kevin Brodwick has become a trusted partner in
our efforts and we are delighted to extend the relationship to with
thinkbaby(TM)," said Christopher Gavigan, CEO of Healthy Child Healthy World.
"thinkbaby(TM) is an extension of his focus and determination to address the
need for alternative solutions."
In addition to thinkbaby(TM) baby bottles and sippy cups, thinkbaby(TM)
sister brand, thinksport(TM), has simultaneously launched a line of safe
sports bottles, perfect for mom and dad, as an alternative to those made from
polycarbonate based products (containing Bisphenol-A).
